The Empire Book of Pipe Tunes and Tunes for the Pipes

| The Empire Collection, as presented here, consists of two books by J.D. Ross Watt, a native Scot who later emigrated to South Africa. The first was published in 1934, and the other appeared in 1936. In all, there are about 225 tunes in these two collections. Many were written by J.D. Ross Watt, and many others are his arrangements. The collection also includes tunes from Asian and African cultures, and well has his own piobaireachd compositions. In preparing the material for the CD version of this collection, we found that the preface material in Volume II was very hard to read, so we re-set those pages in order to make them more readable. |
