The Caledonian Repository of Music Adapted for the Bagpipes
Title from the cover of Gunn's Collection
William Gunn was Glasgow pipe maker, and had school for bagpipers. According to Dr. Cannon's "A Bibliography for Bagpipe Music", he was the first of the Glasgow pipe makers to publish a tune collection, which appeared in 1848. Several subsequent editions of this collection were created over the next several years into the early 20th century. The edition presented here is the first edition. |
