The Cowal Collection

Cover from Cowal Book Four

The Cowal Collection, as presented here, includes four different tune collections. The first of these was compiled by John MacLellan, D.C.M. It appeared in 1905, and includes 71 tunes. The second book was compiled by the Cowal (Dunoon) Highland Games Committee, and was published about 1912. Book Three was published by the Cowal Committee around 1920. The fourth book appeared in 1932, and again published by the Cowal Highland Games Committee. There is a fifth book, not presented here, that was compiled by P/M George MacDonald that was published in 1958.
